My experience with Caoyang No. 2 High School admission
I wanted to share our experience with the Caoyang No. 2 High School admission process last year. My daughter scored 686 on her exams (Mathematics: 136, Chinese: 130, English: 132, Comprehensive: 138). The application process was straightforward, but there were some key things we learned:
1. The school values consistent performance across all subjects, not just high scores in one area. 2. The interview process focused heavily on critical thinking rather than memorized answers. 3. For the science innovation class, they looked closely at previous project experience.
Happy to answer any questions from parents going through the process this year!

Thank you for sharing! Did your daughter prepare specifically for the interview? Any tips?

Yes, we did mock interviews focusing on open-ended questions. The key was to demonstrate thought process rather than just giving "correct" answers.

I'm currently at 670 points. Do you think I should focus more on improving my Chinese score (currently 125) or my comprehensive test score (135)?

Tips for improving mathematics scores in the final months
As a mathematics teacher with 15 years of experience, I wanted to share some advice for students preparing for their final exams. Many students struggle with specific types of problems that frequently appear on tests.
Here are three areas to focus on in your final preparation: 1. Geometry proof problems - practice logical reasoning 2. Function transformation problems - understand the core concepts 3. Probability and statistics - focus on application scenarios
I've attached a practice sheet with sample problems that cover these areas. Good luck with your preparation!

Question about Caoyang No. 2 Science Innovation Class
Has anyone's child been admitted to the Science Innovation Class at Caoyang No. 2? I'm wondering about the selection criteria and what kind of projects or experiences would make a student competitive for this program.
My son is particularly interested in robotics and has participated in several competitions. Would this be relevant for the Science Innovation Class application?
